Set within an idylic Cotswold village near Chipping Campden, The Old Mission Church has been extensively renovated and lovingly restored to create a fabulous and luxurious holiday retreat.

Ideally located for exploring the Cotwolds, this beautiful Church dates back to 1866 . The stunning architect-designed open-plan interior was featured on George Clarke's Remarkable Renovations on Channel 4 in 2022 (series 2, episode 5).

The contemporary design elements blend perfectly with the many original architectural and historic features of the church.

On entering the property, guests will be wowed by the beautiful stained glass window and vaulted ceiling. A modern bespoke kitchen with its large central island, flows into the living and dining areas.

The church is packed with features including original doors, a stained-glass window, vaulted ceilings and a restored clock mechanism. The interior design stylishly complements these features with a mix of bespoke, mid-century and antique furniture, original artworks and beautiful lighting, while the fixtures and fittings and appliances are all of the highest standard.

Bedroom one boasts an en-suite and is located on the ground floor, where guests will be sure to enjoy a good night’s sleep with its sumptuous king-size bed and cloud-soft pillows. A modern free-standing bath adds a touch of decadence to this beautiful room.

Climb up the bespoke glass and steel staircase to the mezzanine ‘Pod’ where bedroom two also enjoys a king-size bed and en-suite shower room. A glazed screen provides privacy whilst affording a striking view into the church interior.

Outside is a pretty south-facing and beautifully landscaped garden and seating area, complete with painted pews.

A secluded patio to the rear of the church overlooks stunning open countryside and is the perfect spot to enjoy heavenly sunsets.

Up to 2 dogs are welcome and the surrounding countryside is perfect for walking and cycling.

Paxford is a delightful quiet Cotswolds village centrally positioned for easy access to well known Cotswold attractions and the wonderful old towns and villages of Chipping Campden, Moreton in Marsh, Bourton-on-the-Water, Blockley, The Slaughters, Broadway, and many more.

Surrounded by quintessential Cotswold countryside of rolling hills and picturesque towns and villages, Paxford is an ideal place for those seeking a peaceful and tranquil environment, or to burn off some calories walking or cycling
.

With an abundance of public footpaths and quiet lanes, and several National Trails nearby, Paxford makes a great base to explore from.

Details of two popular circular walking routes can be found here.

There are many great pubs and restaurants in the area, the award-winning Ebrington Arms is within walking distance and there are many others just a few minutes drive away. Sadly our own local, the Churchill Arms was damaged in a fire and will be closed for some time.

For some retail therapy, there is an abundance of popular market towns to explore such as: Chipping CampdenMoreton-In-MarshStow-On-The-Wold and beautiful Broadway. while Stratford-upon-Avon, Cirencester and Cheltenham are less than an hour away.

For those who love beautiful gardens; HidecoteBatsford ArboretumSezincote House and Gardens, Bourton House and Garden and Blenheim Palace and Gardens, birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill, are all just an easy drive from the property.

Notes

Bedding is feather.

The design of the staircase, combined with the many historic fixtures and fitting of the building means it is not suitable for children.

Baby under 6 months are welcome with their own Moses basket - guests are asked to bring their own baby equipment as this is not provided.

There is no dedicated parking for the property. Vehicles can be parked outside the Church for a short while to unload luggage, but then must be parked along the road or on one of the other surrounding roads.

Barbecue provided on request. Please leave the barbecue in the condition you would wish to find it. Thank you in advance.

Please note that internet access is offered at this property for recreational purposes only and is not meant for business use. Speed/service may vary depending on the package obtained by the owner which is provided to guests free of charge.

Should guests experience difficulties or loss of use, neither the owner nor their agents will be held responsible.
